Cultures and Creators Visual Arts Festival

Cultures and Creators Visual Arts Festival is a collection of posters designed for the annual Cultures & Creators Visual Arts Festival hosted by the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area. This event will take place at the Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde, New Mexico, showcasing and supporting local artists.

2024: Emphasizing the theme "Come together, despite our differences," the 2024 poster highlights the three cultures present in the region: Pueblos, Spaniards, and Mexicans. I symbolize the Phioge Owingeh (the pueblo where the event occurs) with a red flicker, representing the name "Red Flicker Village," while Spaniards are depicted as a bull and Mexicans as a Golden Eagle.

2023: Both 2023 posters draw inspiration from the rich history of the Los Luceros Historic Site, as well as influences from Posada and Georgia O'Keefe. With a diverse mix of Phioge Pueblo, Spanish, and Mexican cultures, the site represents a unique blend of traditions. The posters highlight the local landscape, with a central theme of skeletons.
