Cultures and Creators Visual Arts Festival
Brief
Create a series of posters aimed at attracting donations while also boosting foot traffic and raising awareness for the Cultures and Creators Visual Arts Festival. The central theme, "Come together, despite our differences," focuses on the three cultures of the region: Spanish, Mexican, and Native American (specifically Phioge Owingeh).
Solution
Formulated a strategy that integrated the three cultures, landscapes, and symbols. Inspired by the rich heritage of the Los Luceros Historic Site and the artistic influences of Posada and Georgia O'Keeffe, a couple of posters emphasize the local scenery with a predominant theme of skeletons. In contrast, last year's poster showcased the three cultures of the area: the Phioge Owingeh represented by a red flicker, symbolizing 'Red Flicker Village,' while Spaniards are illustrated as a bull and Mexicans as a Golden Eagle.
Results
The promotional posters for the Cultures and Creators Visual Arts Festival achieved sell-out success in both years they were distributed, generating heightened interest and attendance at the event. Through social media marketing of the festival posters, we observed a notable rise in engagement from 2023 to 2024. Attendees expressed a desire to obtain a poster before they were gone once more.
